Opposing Hearts’ began as a short story I wrote that was inspired by a real life experience and a film called ‘The Sunset Limited’.

When I completed the instrumental, the story matched the mood of the music so I began turning it into lyrics and melodies.

There are two characters in the story. The character narrating has a life-affirming philosophy; that life is a gift where each individual can create their own meaning. The other believes in a life-denying philosophy; that since there’s no overarching meaning to anything, everything we do is futile.

After a lengthy dialogue the two cannot reconcile their differences and the positive character’s beliefs about the world are destroyed. The new song will be available to stream this Friday on all streaming platforms.
